What India needs are public vehicles; trams, buses, trucks that use hybrid engines etc., running on solar power, as this land is blessed with plenty of sunshine. Making small, cheap electric cars will add only to the traffic jam on Indian roads. Mass-rapid transit systems should be encouraged and petrol, diesel vehicles taken off the road as soon as possible. I also do not support electric scooters or bikes as these too add to the jams and fatality statistics of road kills. But Indian industrialists and politicians, unfortunately have blinkers over their eyes.
