Another viewpoint:

Loan guarantees at least allow you an understanding of how much money is at risk.

Tax credits are a bottomless pit that cost the government unknown amounts of lost revenues.

Me thinks you missed the point. I love the wind!
I have a patent pending on a completely new wind turbine design. Everyone’s had their head down in the feeding trough for so long they resist looking up at something new and innovative.

The wind industry has made clear many times that it would be happy if everyone’s subsidies were dropped. But with that not happening, it should at least be on even ground! And, seriously, the historical subsidies for fossil fuels and nuclear dwarf those for wind. And the 1st 15 years of the former even dwarfed those for wind. But go ahead, hate the wind just because it’s free and clean.

Umm, that’s a HUGE mistake. And I’m not sure he knows the difference, given that was the full focus of his point. He wouldn’t have just mispoke. He either doesn’t know the difference or he just lied.

If “big oil” enjoys such huge profits, why subsidize them? On the other hand, if the wind is “free” why subsidize the wind industry? Why are wind turbines so expensive? Why all the threats to shut down wind turbine production if the tax payers don’t pony up and allow the turbine manufacturers another 4 years at the feeding trough? $3,000,000.00 per wind turbine with high failure rates and high risk to tecnicians climbing 250 ft. ladders to maintain an inherently poor design, are the reasons.

I like your points. People need the opportunity to have a clear understanding , so they can make informed decisions. Mr Issa knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s just another bad salesperson using basically lies in the messages he sends. It’s almost as if people have gotten used to the lies by these bad sales people. Tell them the truth, and sadly it conflicts with their belief system. Don’t confuse them with the facts, ha ha. I wish people like Mr Issa would act with more integrity. But they only care about winning their way for their own self-serving interests. Your points bring a needed competitive balance . Thank you.
