Don't you think, conservation of the energy already being produced be a better idea to tackle this crisis? Tackling energy loss in production, transmission and utilization should become routine throughout the world. The main drawback is conservatism. Change the 220v-110v standards in domestic supply. Persuade people to switch over to low voltage systems and use solar, wind or other renewable energy for their lighting, cooling, regulating their water supplies etc. Already existing technology can make lights, fans and refrigerators to work on low voltage supplies. The power saved should be conserved and not sold to power hungry industries. Just ensure that less coal, lignite, fuel oil, natural gas or other fossil fuels are burnt for energy production. In fact, the US can make a start and cut back on energy production and simultaneously restrict and budget the current energy use. The concept of rationing energy may be unpalatable to Yankees. Stop listening to the stockbrokers, economists and business lobbies. The USA must lead. Others will follow when the blinkers drop from their eyes.

This is a question, not a comment. Where can I discover which corporations are cleaning up their performance for the environment and what they are doing? and which corporations need publicity for bad behavior?

The biggest problem in the US and other countries is the WASTE of energy! And despite fuzzy declarations, the encouragement of fossil-fuel-based consumption.
Does the ordinary US citizen really need that HUGE car, which swallows gas quantities at least 2 times as high as its european or asian counterparts? The fact that so much energy is simply lost seems to be a known fact - still, no one seems to care !??! Recovering at least 30% of that loss would have a huge, positive impact on the economy!
"Corporate sustainability" does not exist, more than that, corporations are the ones responsible for basically compromising it
