Only we seldom check the phones or switch off the chargers. The UPS used to power desk computers, laptop chargers, LCD TVs, all silently draws power. In fact you can shut down all the lamps,fans, and other devices in the house and still find your eletric meter merrily ringing up the power being drawn by vampires hidden in your house! There are electronic circuits that can control and switch off devices automatically and hence save large amounts of power now being foolishly wasted. In the end, let us all shift to wind and solar panels. At least neither Ol Sol nor the Wind will bill us for excess power consumed by our vampires!
