We can thank Ronald Reagan for all this “We know better than the smart people” crap.

We’ve got to turn this anti-intellectual movement around or the US is going to continue to collapse into a second rate country. I am so hoping that the Occupy movement is the beginning of a new era in which we start making smart decisions and abandon the foolishness that holds the belief that Joe the Plumber has more wisdom than those who have demonstrated their intelligence.

That we would be looking at a second (even third) rate person like Rick Perry or any of the other Republican candidates for president is terrible. Having a different philosophy about the role of government is acceptable. But it does not excuse the attempt to put a dolt into the White House.

      Well said.

Also doesn’t excuse denying a whole scientific community that says “Move your ass or your species is going to get flushed out by the laws of nature.”

Great piece. But…. so did he finally remember that he was looking for the DOE? How did you know that it was that one?

Yeah, apparently he remember by the next time the moderator called on him and he said so.
