What is it going to take to start bringing down the cost of small (<2kW) systems? Component prices have greatly fallen, but installed rates are holding high.

Is this size-caused inefficiencies or installer greed? Open Neighborhood has been able to get their installed rate to under $5/watt by group purchasing and installation contracting. That suggests that installers are taking too much profit, not running lean and mean.

BTW, there seems to be a major breakthrough in silicon wafer processing that will soon lead to very major wafer price decreases thus further speeding the cost decline for solar.
