Ford Unveils Plans to Build Chinese Electric Vehicle

Go China!! The average Chinese person weighs less, this makes using the progress they are making with their solar infrastructure on rooftops even more important. Swappable rechargeable batteries can also be made smaller (depending on their range needs). The cost of solar is way more affordable in China anyways, now it can power their homes, portable devices and cars. The trillions they save every year not having to spend on oil price protection will be put to use for the benefit of their citizens (instead of their military). The Focus factory in Michigan is solar assisted, if they follow suit, they can gain ground in implementing this cost saving strategy in every manufacturing area.
The main concern will be that Ford has shown that robotics can be used in a huge way for these new factories. This means less jobs, but, exchanging clean energy and far less dependence on oil might be a wash.
If Ford goes for an economy model, the volume sales will surely make up for the profit they lose per vehicle. It would be good to see other automakers follow as they see the miles per gallon (using solar energy) go towards infinite.
