If this investment can help solidify this advantage as a net exporter (to the world), and grow US jobs in the process, its a win. Nonetheless, don’t know whether the DOE will survive Solyndra.

Some Superbowl game ads cost $3 million for 30 seconds of air time.

We’re spending the equivalence of buying 25 minutes of time on TV. If it drives down the price of PV then it is money extremely well spent.
