It is a pity the people of an Advanced Nation like America, has not realized that the economic crisis facing their Nation is caused by Partisan Politics. All said and done. No one candidate has brought a tangible answer, on how to solve the current economic crisis that Americans are facing. The whole world know, if any kind of government plan to Tax the poor to the advantage of Rich, such government does not have the interest of the greater populace at heart.

These are all things that any half way intelligent person knows or at least suspects, yet it is still shocking to have it spelled out so clearly by a member of the organization itself.
My only question is: How much of this agenda does the average republican politician believe himself?

Now that I live in Puerto Rico and realize that Puerto Ricans can Not Vote in US Elections because they do not Pay US taxes, even though they hold a Blue US Passport.
Well done. Many serious issues disclosed under the theme of the American public's blindness to GOP motivations.

But the piece also panders to a certain popular shock value without offering any solutions. It does not go that one step further by saying that the GOP itself may be blind to its ultimate demise should a government fail and power transfer directly to its backers. We have to ask if the GOP is in turn being used by its clearly identified backers?

The author also has some self serving interest. The pension he is clearly trying to preserve may not be so secure in an uncertain future. Are we to trust that after working for so many years in an organization trying to knock a hole in the bottom of the boat he is sincere in his efforts to ask our aid as the water is rising.

By his focus the author suggests that Government Reform may be a solution. Jefferson once said that "the people usually get the government they deserve." It may be that reform must start in the individual hearts and minds of each one of us. To that goal pandering to sensationalism may not be completely productive.

We individually need to manage risk far better than at present. The ultimate risk discussed here is of government failure. Too often tend proceed by ignoring a Risk or run from decisions out of fear of the risk. Either way is not a rational assessment. Too often we are reacting to risk rather than managing it. Managing risk implies some understanding. Understanding is a good place to start.

Again, Well done. It is a start.

I read this piece at Truthout yesterday and again here. I'm baffled by the fact that the same person who provides such a wealth of insight into the corporate, religio-militarism of the modern GOP and their money hungry, money serving membership could have manned a post on their front lines for nearly thirty years.

I welcome the defection while I scratch my head. Signs and wonders.
