    The author forgot one of the big advantages of LEDs when comparing to CFL: service life. LED bulbs can serve 25-50 000 hours while this is only 8-10 000 for CFL-s.

    Also they give out their brightest light immediately after being switched on, while a lot of CFLs need a warmup period variable length. Moreover, the temperature range of LEDs is much better.
