Why not install a 7.5KW system, so both the electric company and the oil company bills are eliminated or significantly reduced.
All new housing and small businesses construction should automatically include solar.
When will the other auto companies wise up to the method of manufacture of these vehicles? Using a solar assisted factory which utilizes a massive amount of robotics lowers the cost a great deal.
Why aren't the developers of solar ink stepping in to lower the cost of these solar units even further?
The free energy of the sun will help consumers, the job market and the economy in general.
One of the concerns will be corporate price gouging on the solar, the car, and the cost of the loan.

Awesome to see Ford taking initiative to become more sustainable. With the way car companies are pushing to become greener, it's great to see new ways to go about doing it. Innovations such as these will help us create a future dominated by renewable energy as opposed to natural gas.

"2.5 kilowatt rooftop"
in the image its a 3000 kwh system....

"After all federal tax credits are applied, the cost of the solar system should run about $10,000. In some locations however, state and local rebates could push the cost down significantly."

i find that quite expensive. i now systems in holland for 3000 Wp costs 6000 euro.
that is with taxis included and no rebates. and in holland we don;t have that much sun :(
