I’m off the grid and once in a while I’ll check my system meter and think something wrong.  Turns out that the refer was doing its anti-frost thing.  Seems to pull a lot of power for a signficiant amount of time.  Something that could easily tolerate being part of the off-peak/response demand solution.

I’ve found 400 watts, up to a half hour a day on line, but don’t know how accurate is.

BTW, my Energy Star18 cu.ft. ‘off the storeroom floor’ refer uses less than 1kW per day, about 0.04kW per hours.
