This is some good news, I guess (I wasn’t really concerned about this, but apparently some folks were). While global warming will wreak havoc on the world, one of the key solutions to it — wind energy — isn’t likely to be very affected. In other words: yes, wind power is still a good investment.

A new study by scientists from the Indiana University Bloomington shows that the production of wind energy in the United States of America will not be greatly affected by the climbing temperatures.

The report is the first analysis of the long term stability of wind energy production in the US and shows that over the next 30 to 50 years the industry will be largely unaffected.

Really a good news! Other advantage of wind energy is that you no longer need a big area to set one up anymore. There are designs that enable home owners to have wind turbines up on their rooftops.

There might be “designs”, but are there any proven turbines which actually generate enough electricity to make them a good economic choice and which don’t fill ones house with their vibrations?

I haven’t found any small turbines which produce much energy for dollars spent. Turbines don’t scale down efficiently.
