I use Led bulbs that I got online from goldengadgets.com An equivalent 100 watt bulb uses just 7 watts (saving over 90%) and cost $20.00

Anonymous, the point is to introduce new technology to people who would otherwise not be too interested in checking it out (and sell more light bulbs than your competitors).

I’m so unimpressed.

Replace a 100 watt incandescent with a 72 watt incandescent when you could replace it with a 26 watt CFL for less than $3. And get a 8,000 hour life bulb.

Notice how Phillips doesn’t talk about the life expectancy of these bulbs?

And pick up on the “halogen technology”? Does that mean that these bulbs are going to burn very hot and be shade-scorchers?

Call me crazy, but I think that too big a deal was made of the incandescent phase out anyway. The new LED or CFL bulbs aren’t all that expensive, and besides, there aren’t that many lights bulbs in most people’s houses that really get all that much use.
