The Southeast is the fastest growing region in the US with a disproportionate share of air pollution problems. Ten of the top 25 cities most polluted with smog (ozone) are located here. The health and livelihoods of more than 36 million Americans living in the region are severely threatened. Pollution from dirty coal-fired power plants significantly contributes to poor air quality. The lives of nearly 10,000 people are cut-short every year due to particular matter pollution. This pollution causes ecological harm by inhibiting plant growth, changing the acidity in soil and damaging plants. Southern Alliance for Clean Energy According to the DOE between 2003 and 2025, the United States’ population will grow by 58 million people, subsequently causing an increase in new building construction. With this growth come the inevitable growth in consumption of energy, water, food and other non-renewable supplies—unless we change the way we design new communities.

This press release must be incorrect. Google was "forced" to invest $5M in a German solar plant because of the Tea Party. Did GE get a pass on this? Come on guys you should just stick to energy and quite bashing your apparent opposition political party. Fair is fair.
