WW, if you’re referring to the agent that causes Mad Cow Disease, I believe the point is that that this is neutralized in the process. If not, then there is certainly cause for concern.

oh great…now we’re going to use potentially dangerous materials to make plastics…note…prions do not disintegrate with heat….give me another bottle of water enclosed in that…thanks, but no thanks….

There is a company called Envion that makes gasoline from plastic. So now you can turn bones into plastic and then into fuel. Weird.
