Very interesting point. One thing worth considering: Would we be able to reliably control the release of energy? That is to say, are the nearly daily 2.5's that Guy/Greenbrier are experiencing standard issue, or would more pent up energy mean daily 5.0's or 6.0's until the fault has exhausted itself? I like the idea though- certainly could warrant some further research if this is found to be a possibility.

Is anyone discussing the possibility that if fracking is causing quakes it might actually be a good thing?

Fracking is only going to cause tremors if there is plate pressure present in the area. Normally pressure will build until it is sufficient to move stuff around. Stuff may not slip until the amount of pressure is high, and that can mean a large, destructive quake.

Triggering tremors while pressure is less might serve to relieve pressure thus avoiding a large quake.
