That would be catastrophic. I’m sure it won’t fly but it really does go to show that they have absolutely no long term vision of this country. Private companies have long benefitted from govt funded/ govt led research (e.g. microwave, medical imaging devices , etc). Private companies will not pick up the slack and most simply don’t have the resources to do so. So much for the supposed ‘pro-bussiness’ GOP. What’s next, gut the NIH? ….. NSF?
