After all a pilot offshore wind farm can be launched by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy as a Demonstration project. It is well known that winds on the sea are about 30 percent more. Since Power is cube of velocity, the power gain is much.

When India can boast of 5th in the world in Onshore Wind Energy Installations it is a pity the country is yet to take off in offshore wind farms. I have been advocating the installation of offshore wind farms for over a decade.
