If a dielectric fluid was circulated behind the surface of the solar panel, keeping the temperature within a specific range, would it last longer? Like 40 years instead of 25? It seems that about the time you break even and go into the black, the panels need to be replaced. Maybe the excess heat could be used to keep a spa happy, or domestic hot water.

Well put, Hippy Hop. If we created a MASS Buying Group membership perhaps we could go to a group of MFG's in the Residential Market and offer a business plan representing one town after another. Better yet, why not have our Local Mayor put together a Vote within each city that states we will all benefit from Solar. If we all agree to a certain City Tax we can leverage the power of the buying group of our Cities and lower the effective price. What say you America?

That is certainly bad news for small consumers like us. While it is true that we want to go solar for our homes, we are keen on getting one as we cannot afford the current price. We may be small in the field but we are the biggest group and if most of us go solar, we can make a difference.
