Another question is: has PSR learned anything from the oil NOT spill, but gusher? (The term "spill," used by media and politicians, is manifestly a palliative.) The key point about the present situation is that the Obama administration has put the criminals -- and if you have any doubt that BP managers are high class racketeers, watch the CSB video on the Texas City refinery disaster, and the text of the Waxman hearings on BP, linked at tenc.net -- Obama has put the criminals in charge of the crime scene where a) BP has prevented a desperately needed, disinterested scientific evaluation of all facts, and consequent choice of least disastrous responses, instead b) doing what it always does: sacrificing people and the environment to protect BP managers' wealth and keep them out of jail. Hence, for example, the massive spraying of Corexit, so obviously terrible for people and the Gulf, to minmize the apprent oil and BP liabilities. What else they are doing in their interests against everyone else's, we can only guess. But those who SHOULD be furiously denouncing Obama's insistence on keeping BP in charge, justified by the lie that this is required under the Oil Pollution and Clean Water acts, which in fact give BP ZERO rights -- those who SHOULD be screaming to the skies in this terribly dangerous situation are making little squeeks, and you guys among them. Why? Because of fear of offending your wannabe-ally, Obama? Let me say, without hyperbole: for organized and supposedly progressive scientists to be silent about Obama's monstrous treachery makes them his accomplices.
