I'm betting that the Bay Area will be among the most likely regions, with all the EV start-ups, the charging station companies like Coulomb, Tesla's new factory in Fremont, and Mayor Newsom's and Governor Schwarzenegger's (boy, I'm going to miss him!) very green EV involvement.

Plug-in America is a great local organization for pushing congress to do what needs to be done.

Thanks for the great article, Susan. Does CleanTechnica have any contact info for agencies or lobbying groups working in favor of this issue? Since Secretary Chu is evaluating "regions" who might qualify, it would be great to be able to let the relevant state governments/agencies know there is a significant "Yes" vote in their region. I'm thinking specifically of the San Francisco > San Jose > LA > San Diego corridor.

That is a great idea there. The people who proposed that $10 Billion budget for getting electric cars on the road. That would be a great help to the environment.
