The best thing that could happen to boost alternative energy development is to stop subsidizing oil and coal.

I think the new president should bring about the future, by paying for the past. I know kids can't vote, that's why we sell their future to foreign indebtedness. But the honorable thing to do is to start paying for the Bush wars with a dollar or so per gallon tax until the Iraqi war is paid off. Higher energy costs promote innovation and conservation. Bring it on. Be thankful YOUR son wasn't blown to pieces, for Wolf, Rice, Rove, Bush, Dick, Rumy, and other four letter characters' wild west PNAC ways.

It's "heels," not "heals." Spellcheck can only get you so far these days. Other than that, great coverage of interesting topics. Also, while there's plenty of good work being done around the world and on the west coast of the U.S., is there hope for those of us in flyover country for some positive solar/wind/etc. legislation? California seems to get all the love these days....
