Is it not possible to use the LED's that are closer to the high pressure sodium in color appearance? I know they aren't as efficient as the bluish white LED's that mimic the mercury vapor lights, but I've always found that my eyes have an extermely hard time seeing in that type of light compared to HPS colored light. Would a mix of the two different LED's produce a light color more towards a white light similar to metal halide? It would complicate the manufacturing process, but if given a choice most people would prefer the white color appearance similar to a bright sunny day. Especially someone Who might want to light their driveway or another large area with it.

We are currently in development of a combined wind turbine and solar panel street lighting system. This product is ideal in that it is made here in America and has the technological assistance we need to implement it into our products.

This article was very timely and I am very happy to have read it.

Now if I can only find a round battery...
