Storing music or data in general in optical drives can also be discussed. Hard disk drives (HDD) or SSD can be much more clean than old-fashioned optical disks.



Hard disks (and non-optical storage in general) uses less energy to get the job done, they work faster and you can reuse them. In top of that, non-optical storage devices usually last longer than optical.



So it&#039;s not just to try to avoid buying music in CD&#039;s, but also avoid using them as a storage media. In my opinion, CD&#039;s should actually be retired. I don&#039;t know WHY people still use optical disks, they are also more expensive and unconfortable than other storage media.]]></description>
