All of you who are anti “Israeli aggression” must live in the region and have seen first hand atrocities committed by Israel. From my point of view, Ive heard so called Palestinian leaders calling for the destruction of Israel, Ive heard of Palestinian suicide bombers blowing up Israelis. No doubt its a bad situation over there for the Palestinians. Maybe one day they can learn to be civilized and learn that peace is the answer, not hopelessly firing homemade rockets trying to kill civilians. Anybody ever see videos of a bunch of Palestinians wearing bombs and doing there chanting mumbo jumbo. If I could I would blow all of them up and you guys would cry about killing civilians. Pathetic.

Great, finally a way to stop those “terror” makers in Venezuela an Iran… what about Cuban’s (oh wait they cant be terrorist because they don’t have anything we want from them).

This article and the quote from MR. Peres is simply embarrassing. And the worst part of all is that it represents the point of view of many in the US and Israel.

A palestinian boy defending his family with a home made rocket is terror but a full on assault on innocent civilians from the worlds best equipped armed force is freedom fighting….right???

How the poor Venezuelans fit into this is beyond educated thought.

Wait: If sunlight is democratic and “available to everyone,” why did this project require venture capitalist support? One can just hold out their hands on a sunny day and magically convert it into electricity for the people! It requires no money or investment. I suppose these capitalists will be democratically distributing the returns on their investment as well, yeah?

“It is a natural way to fight terror because the oil-producing countries of Iran and Venezuela destroy our lives by terror.” Does the nonsensical logic of this statement need to be pointed out to anyone?

Wow, very cool indeed, I love to hear about new clean energy projects. One question. If the CSP technology is really cheaper than the PV technology is it suitable for roof-top use? Putting aside issues of building codes / public opinion for the moment, what are the economics of this technology and how much power can be generated from a single 6 X 6 foot “dish”? Perhaps we have a technology that can make solar affordable for home/owners? Or maybe we can use this to line the roofs of the Wall-Marts / Malls / Office Buildings of the world. Is it feasible?

I think the title of the article might be wrong. I can’t see any way that this solar power is going to stop Israel terrorizing its neighbors, and as the biggest perpetrator of terror in the region, I think most people reading the title would assume that the article is talking about solar energy stopping them murdering and plundering.

this is great. people need to realize that solar is not just for residential rooftops. commercial and utility projects are the future. The weekly breakthroughs in solar technology will also help bring the cost down while the efficiency goes up. here is something I found from yale research:
