In Thomas Friedman’s new book, “Hot, Flat and Crowded” he dedicates a couple of pages showing how the military is turning to alternative energy.

He says convoys that have to deliver Diesel Fuel to outpost are extremely vulnerable to enemy combatants. So the less fuel our military has to use, the more soldiers get to live!
