Microsoft Looks to Cut Carbon Footprint 30% by 2012
Microsoft has announced plans to make both their headquarters and their products more environmentally sound.
With energy-conservation, use of renewable energy, improved data center design, and reduction in air travel, the company plans to reduce their carbon emissions by 30 percent compared to 2007 levels by 2012.

In addition, Microsoft plans to release software to aide consumers and businesses to lessen their own footprint. The company already has an Environmental Sustainability Dashboard for their Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 software which allows companies to track their greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption.

It is just like Microsoft to do the same thing Google did but do it 5 years later than them. At least they are continuing the trend.
