Mafia Blows Rivals Away, Muscles Into Wind Power Industry
Police in southern Italy have this week launched a major crackdown on mafia activities following serious allegations of corruption over the awarding of building contracts for a Sicilian wind farm.
According to organized crime investigators, government officials were lavished with bribes, including luxury cars and cash, in an effort to ensure the contract — worth hundreds of thousands of Euros –was awarded to Mafia-backed businesses.

Police also claim the mafia-backed consortium based its own bid on a rival proposal that was stolen from a safe in council offices of Mazara del Vallo, the municipality that planned the wind farm.
It has long been widely known that the violent organised crime cartels of southern Italy have major links to the waste management industry. However, it now appears they are making efforts to expand their portfolio of environmental businesses to include the renewable energy industry.

Otherwise,it doesn’t really matter where the money comes from, any move away from oil and nuclear is good! There is a great deal of money to be made in these power resources and their development as well as buying city sewage and as in Oslo, Norway, powering city buses and cars with it! Sooner or later, and sooner, if OPEC has its way, oil will price itself off the market and barring innovations such as buying the wastes from piggeries and factory farms and turning it into methane, there will be fewer and fewer sources of fuel at all! Outside of turning Iraq and Iran into glassy parking lots for Hummers and stealing the oil from the heathens there, Little hope remains for the current “American Dream” style life as it is so oil dependent. Solar, Wind. Tidal,Wave and Geothermal power combined, will not support our current lifestyle, and we will know the truth only Post (GRD) great republican depression, barring of course a “Cold Fusion” or “Fission” type scientific miracle.
