No one know exactly when the last shipments of cheap oil will be, except for one word, “Soon”. May be Obama can squeeze the truth out of OPEC and the Saudis? Once the oil is gone, C02 emissions will fall with car use and Jet air travel. What effect do Solar/thermal Power plants have on planet heating? What effect, if any does Wind power generation have? Can Hydro plants be considered a plus or a minus? Does Tidal/electric generation affect planet heating? Is using Geothermal power generation a good, neutral or bad thing? Can legalizing the growing of Hemp for cheap fiber (not pot silly!) do benefit by reflection or not? Does a Solar-oriented passively heated eco-dwelling detract or not? Are non-nuclear powered plug-in cars a positive force or a new evil to contend with as far as planet warming is concerned, and finally, if Algae based, coal-fire C02 fed, Bio-diesel replaces common diesel we use today, will we be any further ahead? The future looks bright, the technologies are all in place, the political will is Obama’s dilemma, and the OPEC boys are pushing the (GRD) great republican depression as hard as they can with price demands and cut-back threats! We have nowhere to go except forward. Our only other option, and not one lost on the American people, is to make Iran and Iraq into a radioactive glazed over parking lot for military Hummers, and steal the oil! We did it to Japan, in less desperate circumstances and with much less to lose! I wonder if the Saudis and the OPEC boys are aware of this or not.
